Lesson: Learning Outside the Classroom

During our Stone Age topic, we learnt how people from the Stone Age discovered lots of things we take for granted and still use today, including tools, the wheel and fire. At the beginning of our topic, a lot of the class believed ‘cavemen’ to be stupid. However, we now understand they’re cleverer than we give credit for. Using our book, ‘The Stone Age Boy’, we learnt how early man created fire and we used these techniques during our forest school lessons.

Once the fire was lit, we didn’t have any mammoth to cook so we used it to make hot chocolate and smores … why not?
