Victorian School Day

As part of our Victorian topic, we've been learning about how life was different for children during the Victorian era. We've been learning about workhouses, working children and Victorian schools. To find out more, we had a Victorian school day.

 

 

First, we were greeted by our teachers on the playground. Boys went in one entrance, while the girls went in another. Then, Mr Kelly told us our rules for the day:

In the morning, we had the 3Rs (reading, writing & arithmetic). 

In the afternoon, girls were taken to do weaving and needlework, while the boys did technical drawing. After that, we did drills (Victorian PE). Check out the video below to find out more.
