Our text stumulus to kick off the year for the first half of the Autumn term is 'Arthur and the Golden Rope' by Joe Todd-Stanton. This text ties in with our study on Saxons and Vikings.
In Autumn 2 half term, we will be using 'The Lost Happy Endings' as our key text. We will also be starting a geography study on the Alps. For more information about what we'll be learning about, check out the plan below.
After Christmas, we will be using Chris Van Allsburg's 'Queen of the Falls' as our key text. We will also be starting a new History topic based on the Norman Invasion as well as exciting topics in Art and more. For more information about what we'll be learning about, check out the plan below.
In Spring 2, we will start a study on Earth & Space, culminating in our very own Year 5 Space Camp. We will be using 'Darkest Dark' as a stimulus for our Space & Astronaut study. To find out what else we will be learning about, click the Spring 2 topic web below.
In Summer 1, we will use 'Paperbag Prince' as a stimulus for our persuasive writing in Literacy and we will be starting lots of exciting topics. Click the link below to find out more.
To finish the year, we will be using Javaka Steptoe's 'Radiant Child' as a stimulus for our writing. We will also be doing topic work ahead of this year's FIFA World Cup.
