Homework
Home Reading: children should try to read at least 3 times each week, preferably with or to an adult, and record it in their Reading Journal with an adult's signature. We keep a Reading Star chart up in the classroom showing stars for all those who have read three or more times each week.
Times Tables: in May of Year 4 there is a National Times Table test which Year 4 children in every school need to complete. Please help your child to learn their Times Tables - there is a Times Tables card to help in their Homework folder and we will be learning them in class too. Some weeks, there wil be an additional Times Tables activity sent home in the children's blue Homework folders. There are also links below to useful practice sites for Times Tables.
Spellings: weekly Spellings will be sent home each week in the children's red Spelling books to learn for a test on Fridays (we will be learning them in class too)
Homework: two Homework tasks will be set each week - one Literacy and one Maths. These will either be in paper form in the children's blue Homework folders, or in electronic form on Seesaw or on Mathletics. Login details for these sites are included in the children's blue Homework folders. These tasks will be set each Friday, to be completed by the following Wednesday.
Please make sure the blue Homework folders and red Spelling books are back in school each week for the new Homework and Spellings to be put into.
Homework tasks will be announced on the Trackit Lights app each week
Thank you for supporting your child's learning
